Guy Style Guide | Guest Post: Making Designer Menswear Work For ...

In February it’s London Approach Week which will see the praiseworthy experience’s ‘Menswear Day’ for the 3rd year management now, with British designers getting to open what they regard as us gents will be wearing, or at least call for to hold up, in Bounce/Summer next year.

And while the ecumenical frame newspaperwomen will slope on London to end what are the key looks for 2012 and the newspapers will determine the most unheard-of and wackiest designs to lie on in their papers, many of us gents interested in our clothes will look at these photos and crow to ourselves.

Give someone the cold shoulder the eerie and the wonderful, headline grabbing pieces though (or don’t, if they’re your preoccupation) and as an alternative go for persuaded you be placed a note of the trends which will suitable you. It’s a foundation we try to get across every so often at our blog at MilanStyle.co.uk. Weirdly, we have always been a spoonful bit anti-the go. We like clothes which look passable on us, no importance how yearn ago we bought them. Which brings us back to the London Model Week Menswear Day. There are some really brilliant British sketch out houses out there at the two seconds, making clothes which undeniably are contemporary, on-vogue but most importantly wearable too.

The catwalk’s womanly Knight of the Family (Sir Paul Smith is the manful), Vivienne Westwood understands that menswear can victual to two things that the British specifically regard: tailoring and idiosyncrasy.

Take a leading men’s shirt by Vivienne Westwood – you won’t go flawed with one of he capital-necked revere shirts which can be drawn unquestionably with a jacket for an evening out, and more informally with some sardonic pants and tanned brogues.

Talking of denim, Dior Homme pants , by Paris based construct business Christian Dior (whose menswear denomination is named ‘Dior Homme’) have become such a basics in the everyone of originator menswear that those who have shabby them once can’t be parted from them. They can be excessive in correspondence in to your unmitigated Levi’s etc, but the inconsistency in cut (slimmer on the thigh and ankle) makes them more suited to okay value footwear addition the truly that the denim ages so well, makes these a masterpiece investment stake. So if you normally buy 2-3 pairs of pants a year, this year, only just buy one higher standing in holy matrimony.

Back to London Forge week though and Savile Row, such an iconic part of British trend, has had a tremendous hit on London designers over the career few years, with Savile Row inspired houses ‘E. Tautz’, ‘Rake’ and even The Queen consort’s slighting tailor, Bold Amies, all showing on The Menswear Day this year.

And what these designers do win out over is tempt to diurnal gents who unprejudiced be to look au fait for employment, or an evening out. Status and craftsmanship are always the watchwords when it comes to British grandeur brands. Watchfully tailoring and splendid knitwear will pop up across the board next week, and with stock think, it’s a look which is masculine and suits all men.

So what does this mean-spirited to you and I? And what trends should we keep a look out for?

MILAN - With overcoat collars turned up, and far-reaching scarves wrapped around the neck, the Ferragmo man is fortified against the cold winds of next winter. The store by designer Massimiliano Giornetti presented Sunday on the second day of Milan Model Week menswear previews for next winter was decidedly urban. The overall twist scheme is serious, grey, blue and black, with flashes of teal leafy, deep purple or lightest peach, sometimes just peeking through a gap between the overcoat and scarf.
